It's a rip-off. Did the same thing and it was laughed at by bars. Better off to get a job as a bar-back and let the owners know you would eventually like to be a bartender. Bartending requires real-world experience more than classroom learning.Anyone go to bartending school in atlanta did you actually get a job from it if u did?
not in Atlanta but i did go to one in california. All the bartending schools do help you with placement :
meaning they give you job listings and then it is up to you to apply to these jobs etc.
btw every bar and bartender that i have talked to has told me that they would rather have someone with barbacking experience than a bartender that has graduated from bartending school.
and to answer your question: most people who graduate from bartending school don't get any bartending jobs (given that it is the only bartending experience that they've had.)
