Is Bartending School worth it if I just want to impress my friends and not get a job?

I am in college, and have a stable job, but I am thinking about going to Bartending School, even though I don't want to ever work as a bartender professionally. I just think it would be interesting to learn how to make cool and unique drinks, and to have experience with it. So its more to like impress my friends/be able to serve drinks with style at parties and stuff, but not to ever get a job with.

So I heard its not useful if you're getting a job since bars will still think of you as inexperienced, but is it worth it for learning/fun sake?Is Bartending School worth it if I just want to impress my friends and not get a job?
Bartending schools are a ripoff. I never went and worked many jobs as a bartender. In fact most bartenders laugh at people who pay to learn. Just get a cocktail book and practice at home.

The best bartenders are made through experience, not wasting money. Is Bartending School worth it if I just want to impress my friends and not get a job?
Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!
Everyone has something to say about everything you do, all of us do, because people are judgemental, and mouthy, and like to shoot their mouths off. You may, at some point in your life, actually use this experience, and that is what we are here on this for, to experience what we can and want to experience, to learn from others and to teach others what we know. So it's a learning thing. Learn everything and anything you can in this life. If it's what you want to learn, learn it. You will then know more than your friends, right? Do it. It IS a useful thing, to learn ANYTHING.Is Bartending School worth it if I just want to impress my friends and not get a job?
Go for it, or you can buy yourself a book on how to make drinks, it's cheaper but maybe not as much fun.
Go for it to gain experience, it may be useful and may land you a job.Is Bartending School worth it if I just want to impress my friends and not get a job?
Go for it. It's fun to make the funny sounding froo-froo drinks.

My dad took such a course 30 years ago. He got all kinds of recipes to make drinks at any party. Unfortunately, he couldn't complete the course, because the company he worked for sent him over-seas... so mom finished the course.

Mom said the "final exam" was a lot of fun. Everyone in the class had to make a mixed drink for the instructor, and for the rest of the class. No one left sober, that night. lol
There are countless books on how to mix drinks! And the library is FREE! Bartending schools are a scam. Please save your $.
