Can I do Bartending as my first career while I'm in school to be a nurse?

I live in Texas and the legal age to bartend is 18. Once I get out of high school, I'm interested in bartending until I'm done with medical school or something like that. I don't see what's the problem but I just wanted to make sure. Can someone please let me know?Can I do Bartending as my first career while I'm in school to be a nurse?
