If you have a bar nearby that you go to, or you know someone in the business, ask them if you can "bar back" for them. That way you can learn as you work. Even if you do it for free, or they give you a meal you will save a lot of money. As a former bar manager I would much rather hire someone with experience than someone that went to school to learn that a vodka and tonic has vodka and tonic in it. Anyone can make a drink. Bartending is mostly public relations. Is there a bartending school in or near erie pa?
"Professional Bartender" 814-835-8023....
Being a bar manager once I suggest going to these schools to learn basics but never putting that down on an application....We would rather train someone from within and we never want bad habits. Also drink recipies are different from bar to bar...example a shot may be made different in each bar and certainly different when you go around the country. Is there a bartending school in or near erie pa?
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. ANYTHING YOU LEARN AT A SCHOOL FOR BARTENDERS CAN BETTER BE LEARNED WORKING AS A BAR BACK OR AS AN APPRENTICE!
