Can anyone recommend a good bartending school in Las Vegas?

Try checking out: www.lmi.state.nv.us, and look under careers/training, then under institutions/schools. Good Luck!!Can anyone recommend a good bartending school in Las Vegas?
I've heard ABC Bartending School has the "in" on the casinos if you want to do that.

Warning though, most people don't want to hire a "fresh out of school" bartender in this town. My friend works at a popular nightclub and the owners just fired the third bartender in a row who was right out of school - they didn't have the experience to keep up with the volume. I used to be a bartender/bar manager myself and I've had the same issue.

My recommendations:

Go to bartending school. Get a job as a bar back, NOT a bartender (bar backs still get great tips in busy bars). Learn the business - not only how to make different drinks, but how to do inventory of alcohol/glassware, etc. Learn how to interact with your patrons - that's how you get regulars. They like you, you get more tips and they come back to see you. Most of all, shut up and listen. The worst thing is a bartender fresh out of school playing know-it-all. I had a new bartender that the owner hired at my old job who pulled this. She lasted three days before she was fired. Trust me - starting as a bar back and showing real willingness to learn will make you very marketable (that's how I started almost 20 years ago). Its also the fastest way to get into the most desirable bars in town with the best money. Everyone wants to be a bartender - many don't want to do the bar backing that would actually get them the job (by the way, I know bar backs in town that make several hundred a night at the more popular bars).

Good luck!!!!
