Bartending schools are a waste of money and reputable establishments don't hire their 'graduates'. Some states require certification. Most don't.

Being attractive can help, but if you have a crappy personality don't expect big tips. You will make more money at a place that has a lot of regulars. You get to know people and they tend to tip better.

It can be a lot of work and not always "fun".
