Anyone attended National Bartenders Bartending School?

I have heard a lot of bartending schools are scams, but I was thinking about taking courses at one to get some experience. I'm already planning on studying some books and practicing at home with a make-shift bar. I was considering this school because I don't really know anyone in the F%26amp;B industry that could help with a shoe-in, so I thought this could possibly be helpful. (I wouldn't put it on my resume, however, or tell potential employers I took the course). Thanks!Anyone attended National Bartenders Bartending School?
It is not a scam but it is charging you money to teach you something that you can learn yourself for free. There are lots of books on bartending that you can get free at the library or for cheap at www.ABEBOOKS.com ( not my website). In a few days you are ready to work.

It is fun to learn to twirl glasses and pour liquor from 2 feet above the glass. You can learn that later at home.

well if you apply for a job generally they will ask you to provide a certificate of completion. I went to a local bartending school where i live because i heard the National bartending school was a scam too. schools offer help with placement but sometimes you don't start of serving you start off as bar back. i say hit up some bars and get to know the managers and start chatting with them. also most bars require that you took the course and they want experience that is why either you lie or you become barback.Anyone attended National Bartenders Bartending School?
Hi, Haven't you looked at the Bartending forums on Indeed where you look for bar jobs? So many people have been getting ripped off going to bartending school. I was looking at the bartending forums tonight. I just couldn't beleive it! I ordered my Bartending book on line a long time ago. I am so glad I didn't get scammed! This is the best book and you don't get ripped off. The book teaches you everything Step by Step. I was going to FSU and studying the bartending book. I got a job bartending right after I finished learning everything.
