The best school is experience. There are plenty of places in NY and Vegas who will scam you out of thousands but there is no such thing as a "bartender's license" or a degree in bartending.
Many states require that you get some form of Alcohol Service Certification and this is simply a 2-4 hour class (that may be taken online in many states) followed by a short exam ensuring that you know the basic dram shop laws, legal limit of your state and that it's illegal to serve someone who is visibly intoxicated.
You could start as a barback (basically a runner for the bartenders) at some places but honestly most just start at bartending knowing nothing and learn it on the job. If you're interested in flair and all that crap there are plenty of tutorials on youtube! Don't let anyone scam you into thinking you need to spend money, you already have the passion, the rest is memorization and motor skills.
Hope that helps

I agree with "Bars". I am a 28 year veteran, who has worked resorts, cruise ships top clubs %26amp; restaurants. I started as a dishwasher, and worked my way up. I was a sponge. I learned everything I know from watching other servers, bartenders, cooks, managers etc. School will give you a basic knowledge. Your most valuable education comes from learning the ropes from an entry level position. Don't skip a step. Learn every position. It will make you invaluable. What is the best bartending school in america?
The best bartending school is one that you don't have to pay for. Some people will argue that bartending school is a waste of money. Since you can't bartend at your age, learn as much as you can for free online and then apply as a bar back to learn the ins and outs of the industry. That way, it'll be a natural progression to bartending and you'll have your foot in the door already.
