I am interested in bartending school, but have no idea what a usual price is for a class like this. Also, is there heavy reading involved... or is it more hands-on?What to expect from bartending school?
There is a lot of memorization involved when learning the recipes for all of the drinks that you have to make. You will also have to remember all of the kinds of liqueur involved. What to expect from bartending school?
Hey Ben,
i went to American Bartenders School back in 1985-86.
It was like 4 weeks and i don't really remember what it cost really.
Learned a lot, it was fun and you meet alot of people. i think its good to do it because of the experience of it, but really i think you can learn just from doing it. There is so many drinks out there and every place has their way of making a drink. but alot of drinks are self explanatory like Rum %26amp; Coke.
I would say do it. You make flash cards and memorize drink recipes and test when ur class is over, well at least thats how it was um, 23 yrs ago.
You will also have to attend a *Tips class (TIPS - Training for Intervention Procedures by Servers of alcohol).
Good luck, and have fun with it. there is good money to be made in this industry especially if you have a good personality. What to expect from bartending school?
You will learn
red snapper, kamma kazi,
long island ice tea, Black Russian, fuzzy naval and a sex on the beach.
Margaritta, bloddy Mary, slow gin fizz.
Learn to make them all on the rocks with a twist.
Theres a school to attend that I highly recommend.
I'd call 1-800-Bartend.
