Hey guys, I was thinking about going to Bartending school (it's relatively cheap here in Arizona; around $200-$300) I am a Pre-Med student, and I was highly considering Bar-tending as a source of income until I graduate from college. Is the school really worth it? I plan on only working for chain restaurants or hotel restaurants. They offer 100% job placement, so I'm not sure if it's a scam or not. Thanks!Has anybody been to Bartending school?
They are not worth it and for the most part a joke and a waste of money. They teach you how to make drinks with colored water and not much more.
Any hiring manager doesn't consider going to one of these schools a plus. Reputable bars do not get their staff from bartending schools.
The 100% placement is more than likely at places so bad or so cheap no one wants to work for them.
I was sent to a bartending school after I had been bartending for a few years already by an inexperienced bar owner who was convinced we couldn't possible know what I was doing without going to 'school'. My self and a couple of other experienced bartenders spent 2 weeks of wasted nights snickering together while making long island ice teas and margaritas out of food colored water!Has anybody been to Bartending school?
I haven't, but it can't hurt.
That's not a major financial investment and you're bound to learn some things while there that will make getting a bartending job easier, and after you do, make you more marketable because you'd know more already ..Has anybody been to Bartending school?
Just getting a bartending job somewhere low-class. (lie and say you've bartended before, they won't hire anyone without experience)
It's not hard to learn rudimentary bartending skills and real-world experience trumps education 100% of the time.Has anybody been to Bartending school?
well if ur a alcoholic then bartending would be bad beacsue you would crave it and drink to much, if u drink lightly then ur fine
