Should I go to bartending school?

I worked in bars for over 4 years as a waitress. I also worked as a beverage cart driver for 5 summers (where I had to mix drinks) and worked behind the bar at the golf course on Sunday mornings. It's been two years since I've worked in the service industry, but I'm considering going to bartending school. I'd like to get a job as a bartender without having to wait tables again? Does this sound like something I'd be able to do?Should I go to bartending school?
ABC Bartending School has excellent reviews, the course is only a couple weeks... and job placement assistance. These days, I think that is well worth a few hundred bucks.

Good luck :)Should I go to bartending school?
I would spend plenty of time applying for a bar servers job before doling out the money for that school. Taking nothing away from bar servers, but let's face it, it is not a tough job. I understand some customers can be tough, but making a drink does not need paid schooling. Good luck and have a wonderful day.Should I go to bartending school?
Don't bother. Experience counts for more than any bartending school degree. Bartending school is a rip-off. I did it once out of desperation, and it didn't help me at all in landing a job.

My advice, just get whatever bartending job you can get at first. Any bartending job at all, even if it's not necessarily at a place that you'd like to work long-time. Spend at least six months there getting bartending experience for your resume. Then you can use that experience to move on to whatever bartending job you like.

An acquaintance of mine did this. He started in some dive bar for a six month stretch. Then he moved on to a better job. Within a couple years he went on to become a bar manager.Should I go to bartending school?
Bartending schools are a scam and a waste of money, that's that.

Everyone works their way up from the bottom in the bar/club/service industry, it's all on-the-job training.

"Degree"s from bartending schools are laughed at openly by bartenders and bar managers.
