Local hotels, especially if you live in a bigger city, are worth looking into. They may have one, two or even three bars to work in, and/or you may be able to work banquet bars. And if you can get a full-time position, you'll have medical, vacation, and travel benefits. You can often transfer to a more desirable location after working in the same location for 1 year.
You can also apply to banquet facilities as an on-call bartender. There are plenty of on-call positions that may lead to something more substantial.
Or you can just walk into a bar that you really like, turn on the charm, and tell them you would like to bartend there. What is the best thing to do after graduating from bartending school?
Get a job as a Barback and work up?
If you did that with a cruise line, you'd have great travel benefits.
