Bartending School?

I'm thinking of going to bartending school. Anyone else done it? Was it worth it? What kind of money do you make?Bartending School?
The people who run bars do not care if their bartenders went to bar-tending school. They want people who can muti-task and have great customer service skills. Bar-tending school is a WASTE of money. Buy a drink dictionary and apply for jobs at bars.



Tending bar is a good way to make a living. Good bartenders make good tips. However, most places don't hire bartenders without experience. Get a job as a server/waitress and work your way up. It is worth it.Bartending School?
i have to say that spending money on bartending school is a waste...get a job where they train you...you can really make some coin bartending but it is a waste of money actually going to school for it....i've worked in the industry and make a lot of money but would never recommend paying for school.... a freakin monkey could do this job but let me tell you, you can make bank doing it if your good....Bartending School?

It's really not worth it. Most bar owners aren't going to care that you went, and are going to want to train you their own way anyhow. You are much better off finding a bar that is hiring people without experience, and learning that way.
Im against bartending school. They cant teach you the reality of the business. You must work at a restaurant as a server first and learn the business. This is a good way to find out if you are cut out. Everyone thinks it is easy to bartend. But its not if you cant multi task and talk to people.
